The Kansas City Chiefs weren’t technically involved in Super Bowl LX, aside from tight end Travis Kelce, who attended as the team’s representative for the Walter Payton Man of the Year award. Another perennial Pro Bowler on the team made a statement regarding next year’s big game.
Chris Jones was watching Sunday’s matchup between the Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots and chose to share his thoughts on the game. The multiple-time Pro Bowler posted on his X account a message for the Super Bowl teams and the rest of the league.

“Took a year off,” posted Jones, “we will be back to it next year!”
Since the start of the Patrick Mahomes era, Kansas City has made five Super Bowl appearances and won three, including three consecutive appearances from 2021 to 2024. After losing last year’s Super Bowl, Jones and the Chiefs went 6-11, finished third in the AFC West, and missed the postseason for the first time in over a decade.
In 17 starts in 2025, Jones collected 29 tackles, seven sacks, 12 tackles for loss, and 32 pressures. Kansas City will look to make its way back into the big game and reclaim the title currently held by the Seahawks, who defeated the Patriots 29-13 in Super Bowl LX.
