Coronation Street has confirmed that Todd Grimshaw’s loved ones might soon become suspicious about the nature of his relationship, which could spell bad news for Theo Silverton. As part of an ongoing dark storyline, Todd has been subject to emotional and physical abuse by his evil fiancé Theo.
With Todd’s friends and family being kept in the dark about what has really been going on, Todd has been keeping his trauma a secret.
Viewers know that Todd recently gave Theo another chance, unaware that Theo was responsible for leaving Billy Mayhew to die following the big Corriedale multi-vehicle pile-up.
In tonight’s episode (9 February), Sarah called in at the undertakers where she confided in George. She told him she was worried that Todd might be struggling with Billy’s death.
“Poor Todd,” George said, adding: “He’s a bit all over the place at the minute, isn’t he?”
Sarah asked George if Todd was struggling financially, saying Todd had snapped at her and that she saw him searching for spare change.
Later, a concerned Sarah steered Todd into the Rovers where George and Christina were waiting for them. They treated Todd to a few beers and a takeaway.

A suspicious Todd asked them why they were treating him, with Christina responding: “My darling boy, basically they’re worried about you after the crash, and now they think that you’re pining away on your own without Theo.
“It’s a little patronising, I agree. But if I were you, I wouldn’t worry your pretty little head, and I’d just enjoy the freebies.”
Could this be the start of Todd’s friends getting suspicious over what’s been going on behind closed doors?

Speaking recently about the harrowing storyline, Corrie producer Kate Brooks said that Todd and Theo’s relationship will be a big story point for this year as more people grow wise to Theo.
Brooks explained: “Todd’s got a great surrogate family around. He’s got George, who he absolutely adores. He’s got Summer, Christina, and Gary as well – kind of by default!
“So there are people starting to look out for Todd and realise that he’s not behaving how he should be behaving – and he’s becoming a broken shadow of the person he once was. It’s how they deal with that, how they rally, how they approach something so delicate and sensitive, which will be how we explore that story further.”
