Two people are in a serious condition in hospital after a hit and run incident that also involved an alleged stabbing in Victoria’s north-west last night.
A dispute at a house on Murray Street in Swan Hill is believed to have set off the chain of events that led to a woman being stabbed and a man being hit by a car.
The incident began at around 9pm, when items were allegedly set on fire and thrown over a fence on the street.
A man, believed to have been involved in the fires, then got into a car and allegedly deliberately drove it into another man before crashing into the wall of a house, trapping the man underneath the car.
The offender got out of the car and allegedly stabbed a woman before fleeing in another car.
A 47-year-old woman from Piangil was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries, whilst a 61-year-old man was taken to hospital by road, also with serious injuries.
A 52-year-old man later self-presented at a police station, and police say he knows the two injured people.
He was taken into custody, and is currently being interviewed by police.
