The University of Hawaii men’s basketball team looks to stay atop the Big West standings when it hits the road for a pair of games, beginning with a contest at CSU Bakersfield on Thursday, Feb. 12. Tipoff at the Icardo Center is 6:30 p.m. PT/4:30 p.m. HT.
Following its hard-fought 72-67 home win over UC San Diego on Saturday, the Rainbow Warriors moved back into a tie for first in the conference with UC Irvine as both squads sport a 9-3 mark. UH, which has won four of its last five games, is 3-3 in Big West road games this year. CSUB has dropped eight straight games, including a pair of double-digit road losses to UC Irvine (78-62) and Cal State Fullerton (82-66) last week.
The ‘Bows will round out its two-game road trip with a meeting versus CSUN on Saturday, Feb. 14 at 5:00 p.m. PT/3:00 p.m. HT.

UH has won eight of the last nine meetings between the teams, including a 98-71 win in Honolulu on Jan. 22.
UH and CSUB each rank in the NCAA Top 40 in free throws made and attempted and combined for 73 free throw attempts in the first meeting (55 made).
CSUB’s Dalian Smith went 20-of-25 from the line that game to set new UH individual opponent records for free throws made and attempted.
The ‘Bows have been extremely accurate from the free throw line, shooting 78% (125-161) as a team the last seven games.
After being out-rebounded six times in its previous eight games, UH out-rebounded UC San Diego, 47-27, in its last game and moved back up to 24th nationally in rebound margin at +7.0.
Since moving into the starting lineup five games ago, Isaac Finlinson is averaging 12.0 ppg and shooting 50% on 3-pointers (10-of-20).
UH won its 10th straight home with its 72-67 victory over UC San Diego on Saturday. It is the longest same-season streak in the Eran Ganot era. UH last had a 10-game home win streak bridging the 2023-24 and 2024-25 seasons.
UH ranks in the top 30 in the NCAA in seven categories – 3FG% defense (4th), defensive rebounds per game (11th), FG% defense (23rd), rebound margin (24th), scoring defense (26th), scoring margin (28th) and rebounds per game (30th).
