BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Campbell earned its first win of the season against Barton Monday afternoon at the James Nisbet Tennis Center. After clinching the match, 4-0, the Camels ended the match with a 6-1 scoreline.
The Camels (1-3) earned the early advantage with wins on doubles courts two and three to grab the first point of the match. Alex Fragasso and Mikolaj Kowal earned a 6-2 win on court three, followed by Adi Dagan and Matias Lofink on court two with their 6-1 victory.
Thomas Drapeau finished first on the singles courts, earning a 6-1, 6-3 win over Fredrik Foss. Aleksandar Hudjec followed on court three with a 7-5, 6-1 win over Diego Rodriguez.
Kowal earned the deciding fourth point for the Camels, defeating William Drake on court four, 6-3, 6-2.
Barton earned its point next on court one before Lofink and Max Hamon ended the match with wins on courts five and six, respectively. Lofink dropped just one set to Juliann Starland, 6-0, 6-1. Hamon’s line of 6-1, 6-3 over Sean Maphosa wrapped up the day’s competition.
The Fighting Camels are back on the court this Saturday to face off against N.C. Central.
