Every team in the NFL has a quarterback problem until they don’t. Between those two points might be hope and opportunity but teams do not feel comfortable until they know for sure they have their quarterback situation right.

For the Cleveland Browns, QB Shedeur Sanders could be that guy. GM Andrew Berry could trade for recently retired QB Derek Carr, sign QB Malik Willis in NFL free agency, try to trade up in the 2026 NFL draft for QB Fernando Mendoza, or a myriad of other options.

With the NFL draft class looking bleak, the Browns long-term options at the position are quite limited. According to Dane Brugler of The Athletic, only three quarterbacks are even in the Top 100 prospects in the 2026 NFL draft:

The expectation is that Mendoza will be selected by the Las Vegas Raiders with the first overall pick, leaving Cleveland the option of selecting Simpson or Nussmeier starting with the sixth overall pick. The Browns also have the Jacksonville Jaguars first round pick, slotted 24th overall, to start the offseason.

Question of the Day: Should the Browns ignore the QB position in the first two or three rounds of the 2026 NFL draft, or do you think Simpson and/or Nussmeier are worth being selected in the first two rounds? If so, when would you select them?
