The Muster Misting System, from MusterFire International, represents a breakthrough in compact fire suppression for small-scale mobile machinery.
Designed for engine compartments up to 2.25m³ (with max height 1.5m), it deploys a 1% fluorine-free F3 foam solution through precision misting nozzles. At 16 bar working pressure, these stainless-steel nozzles (45° spray angle, 200–1500mm range) create ultra-fine droplets that rapidly absorb heat, displace oxygen, and suppress flames while the foam forms a lasting vapour-seal film on fuel surfaces – preventing re-ignition during an extended discharge (143–408 seconds depending on kit).
Activation relies on Loss-of-Pressure (LOP) technology: a heat-sensitive tube ruptures at ~140°C, pneumatically tripping the valve for automatic release, supplemented by manual push-button actuators. The fire-indicator panel (IP65, 12–24VDC) provides 24/7 monitoring, visual/audible alarms, fault detection, and a programmable relay output – integrating with Muster360 cloud diagnostics for proactive asset protection.
Certified to AS5062:2022 and tested to UL1254, the system uses pre-engineered kits (10–30 nozzles, 15–23L cylinders) with modular stainless components, ensuring straightforward installation even in harsh environments (0–80°C). Its eco-friendly F3 concentrate meets global EPA standards, eliminating bio-persistent fluorines without compromising performance on Class A/B fires.
In an era of rising equipment complexity and fire risks—especially in mining, agriculture, and transport—the Muster Misting System delivers simplicity, reliability, and environmental responsibility. It proves that effective suppression need not be bulky or complex. For operators prioritising both safety and sustainability, this is fire protection evolved.
