Today is a big day for the 2026 Winter Olympics as the men’s ice hockey tournament is all set to begin, featuring the return of NHL stars bringing their skills and speed to the Milano Santagiulia Arena after 12 years.
The historic event kicked off with Group B matchups, where Sweden dominated with their exceptional performance, while Italy showed up passionately in front of its home crowd.
The locker room was giving a vibe of high pressure and deep respect for the team.
The hockey legend Sidney Crosby was named the leader of the powerful Canadian squad, which includes Connor McDavid. Sharing his excitement and pride, the captain said:
“It is an honour to be named captain of Canada’s men’s hockey team, which has so many great players and leaders. Every player is proud to wear the Maple Leaf and compete with Team Canada in Milan.”
Auston Matthews is leading Team USA. The captain highlighted the nature of the competition and the level of talent required to compete at such a high level.
