Pinks and greens for early spring. Groundbreaking.

After more than a year of back and forths, email and text transcripts, and a whole Taylor Swift album cycle, Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively can still end their ongoing legal battle before it ever begins in full. On February 11, the two met in court in Manhattan, showing up in unintentionally(?) coordinating outfits of green and pink. Coincidentally, these colors played a big part in the It Ends With Us promo color story. Could the matchy-matchy looks be a signal that the two are ready to reach an agreement. No, it could not. In something so predictable it could be considered un-news, or perhaps olds, the It Ends With Us legal drama did not end Wednesday.

Lively and Baldoni attend a court-ordered settlement conference to determine whether a settlement was viable. Baldoni showed up holding his wife’s hand, smiling for the cameras outside. Lively appeared on her own, in a power suit, and with much more serious expressions captured on Getty Images. At the end of the day, Baldoni’s lawyer Bryan Freedman confirmed (per Variety) that no deal had been reached. That doesn’t mean one can’t be ever be reached, however. There’s also the matter of the summary judgement Baldoni’s team has requested from Judge Lewis Liman, which could see Lively’s complaint thrown out entirely. But as long as things continue has they have, the proceedings will go on as scheduled with the trial beginning in May of this year. Freedman said he expects they will go to trial: “We’re looking forward to it,” he said.
