The AFL International Team welcomes Kieran Sciberras as the new Participation Coordinator for the Pacific.
This position within the AFL’s international team will see him lead the delivery of participation and pathways objectives for the Pacific region, building on the key relationships with in-country affiliate programs.
Joining the AFL Queensland team late last year for the 2025 Oceania Cup in Suva, Fiji, Kieran assisted the team in executing three days of training and matches between the Fijian, Papua New Guinean and Nauruan teams.

International Development Manager, Ben Drew said the International team were thrilled to have someone of Kieran’s experience and passion join their team.
“Kieran is no stranger to the broader team,” said Drew.
“Having worked as the AFL Cape York Regional Coordinator – NPA & Torres Strait for the past seven years, he has travelled extensively across NPA and Torres Strait communities.
“Being of Papua New Guinean heritage and having lived and studied within the region, he brings a unique understanding of the Pacific, a strong ability to work remotely and a passion for connecting with communities.
Newly appointed Participation Coordinator for the Pacific, Kieran Sciberras shared his enthusiasm towards the new role.
“I’m really excited to be working in the Pacific region again,” said Sciberras.
“I can’t wait to work with our AFL affiliates across the Pacific to provide opportunities for people to enjoy our great game.”
Sciberras will play a key role in delivering the upcoming Pacific Academy boys and girls matches in Queensland later this month and early March.
