He couldn’t stop laughing and shared, “Rajpal started getting work almost immediately after he arrived. And I think, among the 20–22 of us actors, he was the one who got the most work. The rest of us barely had any. So whenever we discussed dinner plans, we’d say, ‘Let’s go to Rajpal’s place – he’s earning.’ At Rajpal’s house, the stove would be lit in the morning, and cooking would continue till night. Five or six actors would be there, someone peeling onions, someone chopping vegetables.”
For the unversed, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Rajpal Yadav’s friendship all started long before they became known faces in Bollywood. Both of them trained together at Bharatendu Natya Academy in Lucknow and later at the National School of Drama in New Delhi.More about Rajpal Yadav’s cheque bounce case
Rajpal Yadav has been sent to jail following an order by the Delhi High Court in a cheque bounce case. The court had earlier directed him to surrender before any further hearing could take place. The case relates to repeated violations of promises made to repay settlement money to a complainant company.
During the hearing, Yadav’s senior lawyer told the court that the actor was ready to deposit Rs 25 lakh immediately. He also said that both sides had informally agreed on a schedule to clear the remaining amount. However, the court refused to grant relief, pointing out that Yadav had already been ordered to surrender on February 4, 2026.
Justice Sharma observed that since the actor had not followed the earlier surrender order, he would only be heard after turning himself in. Following the court’s remarks, Yadav surrendered at Tihar Jail on February 5. The court stated that he can file a fresh application as per the law after surrendering. Meanwhile, several members of the film industry have come forward to support him during this difficult time.
