Australian comedian and beauty mogul, Celeste Barber and husband Api Robin have announced they’re going their separate ways.

The news came via a statement on Robin’s social media, with thearborist writing: “The past few months have been incredibly challenging and deeply heartbreaking for us both.”

“After much reflection, the decision has been made to separate,” he went on.

“There is still love and respect between us, but sadly we are at capacity and have come to recognise we may want for different things. Our priority remains our children and their wellbeing.”

Barber and Robin first crossed paths in Sydney’s inner‑west when Barber was 21 and working behind a bar; the pair struck up a connection instantly, with Barber later describing the moment as “love at first sight.” At the time, Robin was 30 and already a father, and their relationship quickly evolved into a long‑term partnership.

After roughly a decade together, the couple married in Bali in 2013, in a private ceremony surrounded by family, including Robin’s daughters, whom Barber honoured in her vows.

In may of last year, the marie claire cover star shared a post to mark their 12th wedding anniversary in her token comedic tone.

“This is fun. I love you. This is hard. Thank you. I’m sorry. You’re welcome. We need milk,” she wrote.

As Barber’s profile grew through her viral social media career, Robin emerged alongside her not just as a partner but as a cultural figure in his own right with Barber affectionately labelling him “#HotHusband”.

The nickname stuck and saw Robin frequent cameos in her parodies and family posts as well as marie claire’s 30th anniversary cover shoot with the star in September of 2025.

Barber is arguably at the pinnacle of her career, seamlessly balancing international touring with her comedic work, while continuing to expand her beauty brand BOOIE and recently taking centre stage as host of the AACTA Awards. As for what comes next, she recently announced her Backup Dancer Tour would be returning to Europe in April of 2026, so fans can expect that and much more.
