Malik Beasley is arguably the best available unsigned free agent, proving himself last year in a key role as a bench shooter for the Detroit Pistons. He can space the floor as well as almost anyone in the league. Legal issues make him unlikely to sign back into the league this season.
Other interesting G League performers to keep an eye on include David Roddy, Skal Labissiere, Darius Brown II, Zyon Pullin, Cormac Ryan, Alize Johnson, and many others.
Some were recently cut, such as Chris Youngblood, Tyrese Martin and Nigel Hayes-Davis, though a few aren’t healthy (Georges Niang, Dante Exum)—other veterans like Ben Simmons. Alec Burks, Dennis Smith Jr., and Cody Martin have yet to surface (or are trying to work their way back through the G League). Some have recently signed 10-day contracts and could be returning to free agency shortly, including Patrick Baldwin Jr., Dalano Banton, Keshon Gilbert, and Charles Bassey.
Check back as players are bought out or waived (perhaps Chris Paul from the Toronto Raptors) ahead of the March 1 deadline for postseason eligibility.
