Gregor Townsend’s Scotland side set the tone early, racing to a 17–0 lead inside the opening 14 minutes through tries from Huw Jones and Jamie Ritchie, with Finn Russell pulling the strings.
England briefly steadied through Henry Arundell’s response, but discipline proved costly. Arundell was first shown yellow and later sent off for a second infringement just before halftime, leaving England down a man as Scotland carried a 24–10 advantage into the break.
The decisive moment came early in the second half. With England pressing and George Ford shaping up for a drop goal, the attempt was charged down.
Jones scooped up the loose ball and raced clear for his second try. Russell’s conversion stretched the lead to 31–13 and effectively sealed the contest.
England managed a late score through Ben Earl, but Scotland controlled territory and tempo down the stretch to secure a second Calcutta Cup win in three seasons.
Combined with Ireland’s victory earlier in the day, the result reshapes the championship picture after just two rounds.
Recap the game below as it happened.
