Tendayi Darikwa felt City created enough chances to win Saturday’s game against Bolton Wanderers at the LNER Stadium.
The Imps were on course for a fifth win in a row when Jack Moylan scored in the first half, but were forced to settle for a share of the spoils when Sam Dalby equalised for the visitors inside the final 10 minutes.
The run stretched City’s unbeaten league run to 14 matches and the captain believes it was important to get something out of the game.
He said: “We created enough chances to win the game, so there’s a hint of frustration there but in the grand scheme of things it was important to get something out of the game and we did that.
“As I said, I thought we created enough chances to get three points and the goal we scored shows the quality we have throughout the side. We know Reachy has a great left foot and Jack – who is full of confidence – applied the finish.
“It was two good teams going at it. At this stage of the season every result is massive, both sides left everything out there and it was an exciting game.”
