On the 2026 ADCC EMEA Trials in Belgrade, Serbia, BJJ vets like Eoghan O’Flanagan and Haisam Rida were among the biggest standouts after winning gold and booking another slot at the ADCC world championships.
The Polaris star and Squads champ in O’Flanagan moved up a division and went a perfect five for five, as he submitted every opponent to take gold at the -99 kg division. This marked O’Flanagan’s second ADCC Trials title, and he will get another crack at ADCC worlds after taking fourth in the last iteration in 2024.
Rida, who has trained at B-Team, Japan and Dubai in recent years, won gold at the over 99 kg division. He won six matches this past weekend, with three submission wins, including this highlight reel finish in the final.
While 20 men have already received slots for ADCC 2026, outdated ADCC rules had this event become the first to have the female winners actually get an ADCC invite. Winning the first three invites for women are ADCC EMEA Trials winners Anabel Lopez, Injana Goodman, and Janette Glover.
Glover actually scored a major upset to win gold, as she submitted the surging Ana Mayordomo in the final. Mayordomo already has two previous ADCC Trials titles from this season, but taking silver in an unprecedented third trials event means that she still doesn’t have an official invite.
