We are just about a week away from the unveiling of the Galaxy S26 series, but leaks continue to surface. A fresh leak now reveals detailed selfie camera specs of the Galaxy S26 Ultra, suggesting a wider field of view than its predecessor. This could allow users to take wider group selfies, improving the camera experience.
Here are the front camera specs of the Galaxy S26 Ultra
According to noted tipster @UniverseIce, the Galaxy S26 Ultra will feature a 12MP front camera with a Sony sensor (1/3.2-inch, 1.12µm pixels), paired with an f/2.2 aperture. While these specs appear similar to the S25 Ultra, the key upgrade lies in the field of view. The tipster says the new camera will offer an 85-degree field of view, an increase from 80 degrees on the S25 Ultra.
Of course, the upgrade is small, but it could make a noticeable difference in daily use. A wider field of view lets more people and more background fit into selfies. As such, you may not need to stretch your arms to fit everyone into the frame. That said, Samsung has reportedly made a design tweak on the selfie unit cutout (punch-hole) for the new setup. The cutout is a bit bigger than the predecessor’s, but it’s a necessary trade-off to improve selfie performance.
Previous leaks suggest that the rear camera system of the Galaxy S26 Ultra will bring substantial improvements. The 200MP main sensor may feature a wider f/1.4 aperture, an increase from f/1.7 on the S25 Ultra. This could allow more light into the lens, improving low-light photography. The 50MP periscope telephoto camera may also use a wider f/2.8 aperture rather than the previous model’s f/3.4.
So, while Samsung may not bring groundbreaking changes to the camera department, these upgrades suggest a focus on practical improvements.
