A Canberra man has been left $3000 out of pocket after a man allegedly used a traffic cone to damage dozens of cars at the Star Casino in Sydney.

Rob was checking out of the hotel in Pyrmont this morning when he was told his car may have been damaged in an overnight rampage.

He went down to the car park to find that his windshield and windows had been shattered.

His car was towed, leaving him stranded and having to hire a rental to get him home.

Rob, who is a regular at Star Casino, said he was “highly disappointed” to only be offered a complimentary room upgrade upon his next visit.

“No support of a taxi to get to the rental car, no support of a transfer or anywhere, not even a bottle of water,” he said.

“I’ve got to spend $3000 of my own money here to resolve this.

“Do you honestly think I’m actually coming back after this service?”

Rob said that parking was included in his room fees, but claimed other people were forced to argue the parking fee charges on their final bill.

A Star Casino spokesperson said they were assisting dozens of people affected by the damage and were happy to discuss individual concerns directly.

“We are assisting customers impacted by the criminal damage caused this morning in liaising with police to obtain the required report to submit to their insurance company,” the spokesperson said.

“We have already spoken with many of our customers impacted and would be happy to discuss any individual concerns directly.”

Star Casino earlier this morning said the incident was “isolated” and would not comment further due to the ongoing police investigation.
