Australian supermodel Elle Macpherson’s fans have rushed to her defence after she was hit with cruel comments about her appearance.

Earlier this week, the 61-year-old Sydney-born beauty bared all in a filter-free photoshoot to promote her new collaboration with the underwear brand, Bonds.

Famously nicknamed “The Body” during the height of her fame, Macpherson proved she’s still got it, showcasing her slim physique and endless legs as she modelled a plunging black bodysuit and red bralette with matching shorts.

Many viewers were full of praise for the shoot, with many commending Macpherson for ditching the filters and revealing her “natural” beauty.

However, among the hundreds of positive comments, there were a few naysayers who cruelly critiqued the way Macpherson looked.

“Let’s talk about sun damage,” one person wrote.

“Sadly they didn’t do what we do back when she was a sun bunny,” another said.

“Her face is unrecognisable,” a third commented.

Fans quickly leapt to her defence, praising the mum-of-two for ageing naturally.

“How about if you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all,” one person said.

“What are you talking about?! Not true,” another hit back, while someone else said: “Beautiful, still The Body.”

“This is a ‘normal’ process of ageing,” a fourth person commented.

“Finally no filters or airbrushed perfection, just real, imperfect women looking authentically themselves. Bravo Bonds,” a fifth praised.

‘Actions have consequences’: Prince Harry’s speaking fee slashed to $50k from $1m

The former Sports Illustrated swimsuit model has previously opened up about how she maintains her stunning looks as she begins her seventh decade of life.

She has admitted to having Botox and fillers, but says she has avoided surgery because she prefers to “keep it natural”.

“I haven’t had surgery; it’s not in my game plan … because I know things can go wrong really easily,” she told the Telegraph Magazine in 2016.

“You might feel that you look younger but it doesn’t look quite right. So I try to keep it really natural…

“Sometimes people get things done and they look worse. I’m a bit of a scaredy-cat and I don’t want to mess with what there is. It’s best to leave what I have alone.

“Having said that, I do vitamin injections, infusions and I work on my nutrition.”

The Aussie says she felt she needed to alter her lifestyle when she hit her 50s and noticed a change in her appearance.

“I noticed my skin, hair, and weight… I was just not feeling inspired, I had sugar cravings, and poor digestion,” Macpherson said in 2023.

“So, I went to my nutritionist and said listen, something is wrong, I need to address my lifestyle.

“She said I was taking a lot of synthetic vitamins so she put me on a powerful multivitamin, prebiotic, and probiotic powder.

“I started taking it because I was kind of malnourished and I wasn’t sleeping much and I wasn’t eating enough fruit and vegetables and I was drinking too much coffee.”

After a few weeks taking the supplements, Macpherson says she was “transformed”, and this inspired her to start her own wellness brand, WelleCo.
