HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University men’s basketball team released its 2025-26 schedule on Wednesday, featuring a 22-game Southland Conference slate and five games against teams that qualified for the NCAA Tournament last March.

Starting fast right out of the gate, Southeastern opens its season on Nov. 3 in Oxford, Miss., at Ole Miss, a Sweet 16 team from 2025.

That game against the Rebels kicks off a four-game road trip to start the season which continues on Nov. 7 at Louisiana-Lafayette, and then takes the Lions to Atlanta for a date with Georgia Tech three days later.

The road trip ends with SLU’s second game against a tournament team from last season, and second game against a team from the Southeastern Conference, Mississippi State on Nov. 15.

Southeastern’s home opener takes place on Nov. 19 when William Carey comes to the University Center.

The Thanksgiving holiday will find the Lions in Wilmington, N.C. for the Live Oak Bank Holiday Classic from Nov. 26-28 where Southeastern will take on the third NCAA Tournament team from 2025 in the event host, UNC-Wilmington, as well as Gardner Webb and Navy.

Southland Conference play for SLU begins on Dec. 7 when Northwestern State comes to Hammond, America. The first full week of SLC play sees the Lions head to Houston Christian on Dec. 13 before coming back home to take on East Texas A&M two days later.

SLU’s final non-conference game of the season sees the Lions make the hour drive west on I-12 to Baton Rouge to take on their third SEC opponent of the season, LSU, on either Dec. 19 or 20, depending on outside circumstances.

Southeastern will help celebrate the new year in San Antonio, taking on Incarnate Word on New Year’s Eve.

The 2026 portion of the schedule starts on Jan. 3 as the Lions welcome Stephen F. Austin to the University Center before Lamar comes to Hammond two days later.

On Jan. 10, SLU travels to Lake Charles to take on the final NCAA Tournament team on the schedule, McNeese.

New Orleans comes up I-55 to take on the Lions in Hammond on Jan. 12.

SLU then heads southwest for the games at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Jan. 17 and Texas-Rio Grande Valley on Jan. 19.

The Lions come back home for two straight games, hosting Nicholls on Jan. 24 and the rematch against McNeese on Jan. 26.

Back out on the road, Southeastern heads to Nacogdoches for the return game against SFA to end the month on January. SLU starts the month of February in Beaumont to take on Lamar two days later.

Home in Hammond for four of the next six, the Lions welcome HCU to the University Center on Feb. 7 followed by UIW coming to town on Feb. 9.

The Lions then head to Natchitoches for the return game against NSU on Feb. 14, and then make the trip over to Commerce, Texas to take on East Texas A&M on Feb. 16.

SLU’s final weekend at home starts on Feb. 21 as UTRGV comes to Hammond, America. A&M-Corpus Christi closes out the home portion of Southeastern’s schedule on Feb. 23.

A trip to Nicholls on Feb. 28 closes out that month before the regular season for the Lions concludes on March 2 in New Orleans against the Privateers.

The 2026 Southland Conference Basketball Championships returns to Lake Charles with the men’s tournament running March 8-11 in the Legacy Center.
