ATP Rankings and Brits Top 10

On the ATP side, the main headline is the Rotterdam triumph of Alex De Minaur as he finally claimed the title in the Netherlands. After two previous final defeats, the Australian finally claimed the title in Rotterdam as he defeated Felix Auger-Aliassime in the final. As a result De Minaur rises up two places in the rankings to six in the world following his latest ATP title success. The result means he also overtakes Auger-Aliassime in the rankings with the Canadian dropping down one place to seven in the world.

In other noticeable ranking rises, Marin Cilic climbed up 18 places in the rankings following his run to the semi-finals in Dallas. The Croatian has returned to the world’s top 50 and is now placed at 43 in the world. There are also ten place ranking rises for Botic Van De Zandschulp and Raphael Collignon who sit at 55 and 59 in the world respectively. There was a 24 place climb for Christopher O’Connell after his good performance in Rotterdam and now sits at 95 in the world. Meanwhile, on his final year on the tour Stan Wawrinka has returned to the world’s top 100 after climbing up eight places to 98 in the world.

The biggest faller in the world’s top 100 is Hamad Medjedovic as he fell by 18 places to 97 in the world. There was also a 17 place fall for Miomir Kecmanovic who is at 83 in the world while Matteo Arnaldi is down 13 places to 85 in the world. Meanwhile, Marton Fucsovics is down 12 places to 61 in the world while Joao Fonseca is down five places to 38 in the world after failing to defend his Buenos Aires title.

As for Brits there was a massive 43 place rise for Jack Pinnington Jones as the Brit qualified for the ATP 500 event in Dallas and went on to reach the quarter-finals. As a result of his run in America, Pinnington Jones is now up to 138 in the world as he targets a place in the world’s top 100 soon. However, there was an eight place fall down the rankings for Billy Harris who is now at 144 in the world.

WTA Rankings and Brits Top 10

The incredible young career of Victoria Mboko keeps shining as the Canadian continued her impressive surge up the rankings. A second WTA 1000 final was earned after Mboko defeated the likes of Mirra Andreeva as well as Australian Open champion Elena Rybakina on her way to the final. However, the final was a step too far as she was defeated by Karolina Muchova at the last hurdle. It was still a good week for Mboko in Doha as she is now in the world’s top ten for the first time in her career. As for Muchova, it was an incredible week for her as she cemented herself as one of the most dangerous players on the tour. After her title in Doha, Muchova climbed up eight places to 11 in the world.

The biggest rise up the rankings this week goes to Maria Sakkari after her run to the semi-finals in Doha saw he rise up 18 places to 34 in the world as she is back in the world’s top 50. There was also a 17 place rise up the rankings for Elisabetta Cocciaretto as the Italian is now at 40 in the world after knocking out Coco Gauff in Doha. A final big ranking rise goes to Varvara Gracheva who is up 13 places to 60 in the world.

In ranking falls, Ekaterina Alexandrova is out of the world’s top ten and moves down two places in the rankings. There was also eight place falls down the rankings for Yulia Putintseva and Elena-Gabriela Ruse as they are 78 and 80 in the world respectively. The biggest faller of the WTA rankings goes to Rebecca Sramkova who is down 21 places to 103 in the world.

The biggest ranking news of the week is Katie Boulter as the Brit continues her resurgence in the world’s top 100 as she is up nine places to 75 in the world. There was also a nine place rise for Harriet Dart who is at 169 in the world.
