Any Baltimore Ravens fan worth their salt knows that it’s long been the business model of this team to replenish its cupboard with veteran wide receivers who still have some juice. More often than not, that idea works well. The young guys can learn from a veteran, and the offense gets a boost from some bonus production.

Guys like Anquan Boldin, Steve Smith Sr., and Odell Beckham Jr. come to mind. This past season, Baltimore added DeAndre Hopkins on a one-year deal. That didn’t pay off as the organization expected at times, but there wasn’t much that provided consistent fireworks for the Ravens last season.

Bringing him back (or adding any receivers hinges on the outcome of some other important free-agent decisions. Tyler Linderbaum, Dre’Mont Jones, Alohi Gilman, and Isaiah Likely come to mind. Baltimore must also address Lamar Jackson’s massive cap number, or they risk losing all of these guys and others.

Hopkins tallied 22 receptions, 330 yards receiving, and two TDs. Things, however, fizzled towards the end of last season. Here are a few ideas if the Ravens look towards free agency to find a suitable replacement.

The Eagles declined Jahan Dotson’s fifth-year option, and they’ve had a bit of a revolving door at the slot wide receiver position. It stands to reason that Jahan Dotson finds his way elsewhere.

Philadelphia doesn’t target the third wideout much, which helps explain his lack of production. This is certainly someone that Baltimore will want to take a look at.

Blame Lamar Jackson for Marquise Brown’s mention here. The Ravens QB seems to be hinting that he’d be okay with a reunion. The truth is that much of The Flock would be down with seeing that reunion, too.

Can you imagine if the Ravens added this speedster to the offense? That would certainly make an already powerful offense even scarier. Rashid Shaheed doesn’t drop passes. He’d also give the special teams unit another punt returner, as he’s a phenomenal kick returner.

Romeo Doubs has probably run out of time with the Packers, maybe. Might one team’s loss be another organization’s gain at the wide receiver position?

Doubs started 16 of his 17 in-game appearances for Green Bay last season and notched 724 yards and seven TDs on 63 receptions. Those numbers include the postseason.
