The exhibition, The Last Stronghold: An Epic Medieval Adventure, is coming to Shepherd’s Bush, offering a rare gateway to a world that has been lost to time for over seven centuries. This is not your typical VR session; it’s a scientifically accurate, cinematic time-travelling experience. And this time it’s taking you into the snowy, bustling streets of Carcassonne in the year 1304.

While Londoners are no strangers to medieval history, from the Tower to the Abbey, we have never seen anything like this. Good news, the waitlist is live, and you can be the first to experience this rare opportunity to visit the forgotten UNESCO World Heritage site. At The Last Stronghold, you will witness the fortress exactly as it stood before the massive 19th-century restorations changed its face forever. Afterall, how often do we get to hang out in the 14th century France without leaving the city?

Get ready to step into medieval France, where learning becomes an adventure: a VR experience to enjoy with friends and the whole family. Developed in collaboration with the Centre des Monuments Nationaux and world-leading historians, The Last Stronghold reconstructs the largest fortified medieval city at its absolute architectural peak.

You will get to enjoy a high-quality 45-minute journey taking you to explore Carcassonne back in 1304. Not only do you learn about the rich history of the time, but get to freely roam around the expedition as if you’re actually there. Guided by a young Northern Lord named Simon, the virtual tour aims to create a feeling of reality. Here, you will witness the art of swordsmanship, explore the ramparts, and truly become a part of that time.
