UFC Vegas 109 has beefed up the card with the addition of a new light heavyweight fight just days before the event is scheduled to take place.

Cody Brundage, who typically competes at middleweight, is moving up to 205 pounds to take on Eric McConico on the card headlined by Roman Dolidze vs. Anthony Hernandez. UFC officials announced the new matchup on Wednesday.

The fight serves as Brundage’s first appearance since he fought Mansur Abdul-Malik back in June in a bout that initially ended with him losing a technical decision. The stoppage in the fight came after Brundage and Abdul-Malik clashed heads accidentally but rather than declare a no-contest, the referee decided to turn to the judges’ scorecards for a decision.

Now, Brundage looks to erase the bad memories from that entire experience and get back on track when he fights on Saturday.

As for McConico, he’s making his second appearance in the UFC after suffering a knockout loss in his debut in a fight against Nusulton Ruziboev. Overall, McConico sports a 9-3-1 record and he’ll attempt to get his first UFC win on Saturday.
