EXCLUSIVE: What started as a “playful” fantasy, left Rebecca questioning her entire relationship on Married At First Sight.
The bride felt “disappointed” when husband Steve shut down her Intimacy Week fantasy night idea. But according to her, there’s more to the story.

In a moment you didn’t see on TV, Rebecca revealed their struggle was about more than just the “intimacy”.
Rebecca felt her husband Steve was not “showing up for her” on a day-to-day.

“I think Steve and I, we’re just in different places when it comes to intimacy,” the bride did clarify.
”But I think he’s confused with what I’m asking for,” she explained.
“It’s not about just the physical, it’s about the emotional connection and the romance side of things and putting in the effort to get to know me and you know, coffee dates,” she said.

During Intimacy Week, Rebecca came home with lingerie she had purchased, hoping to have some fun and “feel desired” in their relationship.

“If you wanted me to put it on?” she playfully asked at the time.
Steve hesitated as he replied: “I’d rather not… it’s not just for me.” 
“Intimacy comes in many shapes and forms,” said Steve as he held Rebecca’s hand. 
So while Steve put it down to the pair finding “their speed”, Rebecca felt he wasn’t trying.

“I just don’t think he was really showing up for me in the experiment… which is disappointing for me because I waited so long to go into the experiment,” she reflected.
“I just wanted to have fun with it and it to be light, nothing too serious,” she said of the task. “It was meant to be playful and fun, not a serious board meeting.”
But in the moment, Rebecca felt rejected.

“I felt really cheap and disregarded in that moment which left that self-doubt of ‘is he really into me?’
“For me, intimacy is very important in the right relationship, and he kind of just shut the whole…like he just wasn’t interested.
“I hope we turn it around,” she said knowing she has a big decision to make come Sunday’s Commitment Ceremony.
