NBA superstar Jaylen Brown is the latest basketball standout to tease potentially becoming an MMA fighter once his current career concludes.
The UFC Octagon has showcased some of the most versatile athletes in the world. From former professional football players like Greg Hardy and Brock Lesnar, to former Olympians like Henry Cejudo, the Octagon has shown many different elements of athleticism.
Many major sports stars are avid fans of the UFC and Mixed Martial Arts. Major events are often attended by high-profile celebrities like Tom Brady, comedian Theo Von, and U.S. President Donald Trump.
NBA superstar Jaylen Brown, a five-time All-Star with the Boston Celtics, is one of those avid MMA supporters. Standing at 6’6″, Brown is an elite athlete and a matchup nightmare on the Basketball court.
While Brown is in the middle of his athletic prime, he knows that his current Basketball career won’t last forever. Once he hangs up the sneakers, Brown wants to trade them in for some MMA gloves.

During NBA All-Star media day, Brown revealed how fighting could be a massive part of his post-career plans.
“I’ve talked to some people. Maybe post [NBA] career, I’d love to partake in some UFC or even boxing,” Brown said.
“I’ve talked to Dana White about some stuff. And we’ll see!”
Interestingly, UFC CEO Dana White seemed to confirm recent discussions with brown during a Zuffa Boxing post-fight press conference.
“I thought Jaylen was messing with me when he told me that,” White said of Brown’s comments.
“But apparently, he’s not, and he’s training over at the UFC PI. Been working on his Muay Thai. I think it’s awesome that these guys want to try to fight.”
Surprisingly, Brown is the only current NBA star to tease future MMA careers. Kristaps Porzingis, a former Celtics star, trains in MMA during NBA offseasons and is strongly considering a future debut in the cage.
