Another day, another race. Stage five of the UAE Tour heads to the emirate of Dubai, giving sprinters a beauty chance to grab a dub.

Starting at Al Mamzar Corniche, the 165-km course winds through desert landscapes, including the Al Qudra Cycling Track, and past the Meydan Racecourse. There’s a huge grandstand and capacity for over 60,000 fans.

The parcours then goes to wide, straight avenues full of roundabouts, leading back to Dubai. The finish is set on a broad, pretty straightforward stretch in front of the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University. The last 700 m will be perfetto for a high-speed showdown.

Expect the fastest riders to dominate Friday’s action. Jonathan Milan took the win on Thursday—beating his own brother in a sprint for the first time (honestly, no one beats their brother; Ed. nobody cares about the 90s, Hansen).

After a very, very fast time trial and a tough summit finish, Thursday’s fourth stage of the 2026 UAE Tour gave the sprinters their moment.

Jonathan Milan (Lidl-Trek) claimed victory in Fujairah, with teammates Derek Gee-West and fellow Canadians Riley Pickrell and Pier-André Côté finishing strongly in the top 14. Antonio Tiberi kept the leader’s jersey, while Gee-West held onto seventh overall.

After the race, Milan said, “My teammates were there and did a fantastic job to always keep me in the first positions and delivered me in a good way. I just had to sprint, I’m really happy with my performance.”

Even GC man Derek Gee-West was in the mix for the leadout. You gotta do what you gotta do sometimes.

Milan now has three wins this season and is closing in on Isaac del Toro for the points jersey. Pickrell notched his second top-10 of the tour, building momentum ahead of Friday’s sprint-friendly fifth stage.
