MANILA, Philippines — K Brosas and Jopay Paguia-Zamora have spoken out against recent statements made by former “StarStruck” alumnus Alvin Aragon after his controversial remarks involving their families.

Brosas broke her silence Thursday through a video posted on social media after Aragon mentioned her in a YouTube interview wherein he questioned celebrity parents who openly support their LGBTQIA+ children.
While discussing the sexual orientation of his stepchild, Sofia Trazona, the transgender child of his wife and former SexBomb Girls member Izzy, Aragon cited Brosas, Gloc-9 and Ian Veneracion as examples of parents he believes are celebrating what he considers wrong.

Brosas said she had no intention of responding until her name was dragged into the conversation.
“I didn’t want to speak up, but you mentioned my name, Kuya. You mentioned us. It’s like you condemned us because we accept our children for being members of the LGBTQ community. What is it to you? Did you contribute anything, even when my child was in preschool? Did you ever give allowance?” Brosas said as translated in English.

While she delivered some of her comments with jokes, Brosas admitted she was irritated by Aragon’s repeated references to the Bible and what she described as sweeping judgment.
“To be honest, I was irritated. That’s really it. I’m just putting it into jokes. You always mention the Bible. I really don’t want to talk about the Bible because people always bring up Sodom and Gomorrah. I believe the Lord is accommodating. He’s not going to interrogate us when we get to heaven. If I die and He asks me, He will look at what’s in my heart. He’ll see, ‘She’s not perfect, but at least she did what she believed was right,’” Brosas said.
Brosas emphasized that accepting her child does not contradict her faith.
“It says in the Bible, ‘Love thy neighbor.’ It doesn’t say, ‘Love thy neighbor except gays and lesbians.’ As long as you’re not stepping on anyone, I believe I have my own relationship with the Lord. That’s personal. Whether you’re gay, lesbian, or even seaweed — it’s between me and Him. No one should judge.”
She ended her video with a message of support for Sofia, who has faced online criticism.
“For [Sofia], if you’re watching, hi. I’m so proud of you, and I’m pretty sure many people support you,” she said.
Meanwhile, Paguia-Zamora expressed disappointment over Aragon’s comments regarding the SexBomb Girls’ reunion concert and the group members’ spouses.
Aragon’s wife Izzy Trazona appeared on the fourth night of the “Get, Get Aw” concert but did not perform, choosing instead to deliver a message about her faith.
In earlier interviews, Aragon criticized the group’s outfits and dance routines and questioned why their husbands allowed them to perform.
Speaking to “TV Patrol,” Paguia-Zamora said the comments crossed a line when spouses were brought into the issue.
“The saddest and most painful part for us in SexBomb is that he started name-dropping and our husbands got dragged into it. Please be careful with the words you deliver. There’s a proper way to say things. We were always taught that if you want to disciple someone, they should see it in you,” she said.
She clarified that she respects Izzy’s decision not to perform at the reunion show.
“I have nothing to say against Izzy. She knows I love her very much. I respect whatever decision she made from the start. I have nothing against that. But Alvin, if you have a problem, we will pray for you,” she said.
Paguia-Zamora added that while Aragon’s statements may be rooted in Scripture, delivery matters.
“What he said, it’s really in the Bible. It’s there. But maybe for us, we should be careful in how we say things. Not everyone is a believer. And even if they are, that’s not the approach. It’s still painful for me. Our husbands got dragged into it,” she said.
As of posting, Aragon has not released a new statement responding to the reactions from Brosas and members of the SexBomb Girls.
