Patty Mills sets impressive challenge as GM of University of Hawai’i Men’s Basketball
Patty Mills has set a challenge for the Hawai’i Men’s Basketball team, in an attempt to truly connect with the community and it’s basketball scene.
The Australian decided that they would take one basketball and make a three-pointer on every outdoor court in Hawai’i, in an effort to bond with the team and increase their connection with the community.
“Part of the new Roots and Reach program that we launched, as a way to connect the team with the community, was to get this ball and have it travel around the whole state,” Mills said in a video posted to his Instagram account.
“One ball, one three, every outdoor court in Hawaii.
“Some say it’s impossible, others say it’s a waste of time. can’t be done.
“I was also told that I’m too short to play in the NBA. I kind of figured that one out. I think we can do this.”
After finishing ninth in the Big West conference last season, Hawai’i will hope Mills can bring an edge to the team for the first time since 2016.Â
