Coronation Street spoilers follow.
Coronation Street has released a new set of spoiler clips for next week’s episodes – offering a first look at Steve McDonald’s heartbreaking new storyline. Steve is about to take centre stage in emotional scenes, as he’ll soon be rocked by the death of his father Jim.
That news isn’t heading Steve’s way just yet, but we’ll start to see Jim mentioned on screen again next week to prepare us for the worst. In Monday’s episode, Steve feels let down by his wayward dad when he realises that Jim has landed him in big financial trouble. This could create an unfortunate knock-on effect, leaving Steve on even worse terms with his father just before Jim dies!

1. Monday 23 February
Steve vents to his partner Cassie Plummer after learning that Jim has forged his signature on some important paperwork, fraudulently putting him down as a guarantor.
This makes Steve responsible for £1,800 of Jim’s unpaid rent. Cassie suggests some potential ways out of this mess, but the conversation takes an ominous turn when Steve reveals that Jim’s rough-sounding landlord knows where he lives! Will Steve receive an unwanted visitor?
These scenes are only the beginning of Steve’s big new storyline, just days before much worse news reaches him…
2. Wednesday 25 February
During a pampering session at Audrey’s salon, Shona Platt gushes over how sweet David is with their newborn daughter Harper. Maria Connor also dishes out praise about how Shona has been the making of David.
Manipulative newcomer Jodie Ramsey struggles to hide her irritation over Shona’s marriage receiving so much attention – and seems to be hatching a plan when she spots her sister’s wedding ring.
3. Thursday 26 February
At the police station, we see how Lisa Swain is getting along now that she’s on desk duty. She hands her colleague Kit Green some important paperwork relating to a man who was found in the street with a head injury.
This seems to be an easy case at first glance, but when Kit recognises the name of the victim – Bernie’s stalker Mal Roper – his face falls…
