Police say they have seized drugs with an estimated street value of almost $1.5 million from a vehicle during a traffic stop on a New South Wales highway.
Police said the 22-year-old male driver was stopped by Highway Patrol officers at 12:40am on Saturday on the Pacific Highway at Nabiac, on the state’s Mid North Coast.
It is alleged the man tested positive for cocaine following a roadside drug test.
Following his arrest, the vehicle he was driving was searched and police said they found 4 kilograms of cocaine and 45kg of cannabis.
Police have estimated the total street value of the drugs is $1.45 million.
A total of $980 in cash and several electronic devices were also found in the vehicle.
It is alleged the driver provided officers with a a fake driver’s licence before it was discovered the man was a suspended learner driver.
He was charged with numerous offences including the supply and possession of prohibited drugs, and driving while suspended.
He was refused bail.
