Australia could be on here!
That was a solid jump from Australia’s last jumper Reilly Flanagan.
He just sat back on the landing – and didn’t look too happy with himself – but it was a decent jump. Score of 87.06.
That puts Australia in first position – but they are second out of seven teams. So now, it’s to stand and wait.
Wish them luck! They very well could hang on here for a top four finish, which would see them through to the medal event, final 2.

Australia in great position
Can we ? Could we ? A medal in this would be astonishing !
– Phillip
After Danielle Scott’s whopping score of 120.2, Australia could make it through to final two. Reilly Flanagan, who is Australia’s next and last jumper, just needs to stick the landing.
Everyone cross their fingers and send good green and gold vibes over to Italy STAT.

Disappointment for Ukraine
OH. Ukraine was a favourite to medal at this event but will now be lucky to scrap through to final two after their second jumper doesn’t stick the landing.
He looked (rightly) filthy, really disappointed.
It does, however, help things for Australia…

United States overtakes Australia
Wow — that was some jump from the United States. With a second score of 120.36, they have now overtaken Australia with a combined score of 227.25.
Australia is on 201.98.

Danielle Scott lands and secures huge score!
A fantastic jump and land from Australia’s Danielle Scott.
There was a high degree of difficulty — going with a triple kicker — and she made it look easy.
Score of 120.20 — that’s by far the highest score of any jumper so far!
Australia now in front.

Australia in fourth after first jump
That’s promising, Australia in the top four after the first jumpers.
China went last and pushed Australia from third to fourth.
Abbey Willcox put down a score of 81.78, just behind China’s first jumper’s score of 81.99.
The United States leads with a big score of 106.89 and Ukraine with 90.58.
Now Danielle Scott and Reilly Flanagan to go.

Jumpers landing well
The United States and Ukraine’s first jumpers put down some very decent scores of 106.89 and 90.58, respectively.
That pushes Australia down to third spot in these very early stages.

Abbey Willcox lands first jump!
She’s a very consistent jumper — and she landed beautifully. That was a back full-double kicker.
That will stabilise the Australian team well.
A score of 81.784.

Mixed aerials gets underway
Abbey Willcox, Danielle Scott and Reilly Flanagan are up against some tough competition in the mixed aerials.
The key for them will be to each land their jumps. Each of their jumps will be combined for an overall score.
So, if any competitors fall, it will really hurt their team’s overall score — and there’s been a few unstuck landings these Games across aerials.
Kazakhstan’s first competitor wasn’t able to land her jump.

Australian team up second in mixed team aerials
Any idea how many nations competing in mixed aerials ? Assuming there is a fair few , it must take a while.
– Phillip
There are seven nations competing (in order): Kazakhstan, Australia, United States, Ukraine, Switzerland, Canada and China.
The top four teams from final 1 will advance to final 2.

How the mixed aerials work
How does the mixed aerials team event work?
– Bec
The team event consists of three athletes from each nation.
One has to be female and at least one has to be male. Australia has two women and one man.
Each athlete will do one jump and then their scores are combined, which is when they’ll either move onto the next round or not.
Here’s our Aussies explaining it on Instagram.

Just two more days of Olympics coverage
G’day Michael. On a totally different topic before you start Olympic coverage , we can safely say after the F1 testing the season certainly won’t be boring ! Looking forward to it immensely.
– Phillip
Unfortunately Phillip, Mick has finished for the day and you’re stuck with me!
But I too am looking forward to his F1 coverage this year.
1h agoSat 21 Feb 2026 at 9:03amAustralian set for gruelling 50km finale
How long does the 50km cross country skiing event take on average? Hours?
– Bec
The 50km mass start is one of the Games’ oldest and most prestigious events. It’s also one of the most gruelling endurance tests in winter sports.
Women previously faced 30km until these Games, where they will also now do the tough 50km.
Australia’s sole representation is Seve de Campo — wish him and his quads big luck!

Time-wise, we’re looking at a couple of hours. At the last Games in Beijing 2022, the event was delayed by an hour and shortened to around 30km due to high winds and freezing temperatures.
Alexander Bolshunov won the gold with a time of 1:11:32.7, followed by Ivan Yakimushkin with a time of 1:11.38.2 and Simen Hegstad Krueger with a time of 1:11.39.7

Indra Brown has earned incredible plaudits since bursting onto the elite freeski halfpipe scene — and all of them are thoroughly deserved.
As a result, she has earned some high-profile admirers, including global superstar and five-time Olympic medallist Eileen Gu.

“She’s great,” Gu said when asked about the teenage Aussie following qualifying, where the Chinese athlete finished fifth after a first-round fall.
“I know her super well.
“It’s so wonderful to see the next generation of the sport and I think she’s the real deal, so I’m excited to watch her progress.”
