South Australia has made three changes to its WNCL squad ahead of a crucial double-header against the ACT Meteors in Canberra.

The two sides will face each other at EPC Solar Park on February 22 and 24, with Darcie Brown, Megan Schutt and Tahlia McGrath away on international duty. Isabella Malgioglio, Kate Peterson and Ella Wilson come into the squad for the trip to the nation’s capital.

After winning their past four matches, South Australia has surged back into top-two contention on the WNCL ladder. The upcoming fixtures present a valuable opportunity to strengthen their push for a spot in the final.

In their most recent match, South Australia chased down 285 against Victoria at home, losing just four wickets. Emma de Broughe led the charge with 82, while five batters passed 40 in a dominant all-round performance. Tahlia McGrath and Bridget Patterson combined for a pivotal 85-run partnership to guide the side home.

Leg-spinner Amanda-Jade Wellington also reached a historic milestone, claiming her 166th WNCL wicket to draw level with Australian great Lisa Sthalekar for the most wickets in the competition’s history.

Squad of 13: Hollie Armitage, Jemma Barsby, Emma de Broughe, Ellie Johnston, Eleanor Larosa, Isabella Malgioglio, Courtney Neale, Bridget Patterson, Maddie Penna, Kate Peterson, Courtney Webb, Amanda-Jade Wellington and Ella Wilson
