Like all the best streaming services, Netflix rolls out plenty of new TV shows and movies throughout the year. While “The Night Agent” season 3 headlines this week’s slate of new releases, on the movies side, the Netflix top 10 is a great barometer of what new releases have subscribers buzzing.

Granted, not every movie that makes the cut is a guaranteed must-watch. Just look at “The Expendables 4” in the top slot right now. With that in mind, I regularly comb through Netflix’s top 10 list of most-watched movies to highlight the best of the bunch so you can skip the scrolling and get to streaming.

This week, that includes a vertigo-inducing survival thriller, an earworm-filled animated adventure, and Tyler Perry’s latest crowd-pleasing family comedy. For even more streaming recommendations, check out our guide to everything new on Netflix this month. Here are the three must-watch movies in Netflix’s top 10 this weekend. Enjoy!

Netflix subscribers can’t seem to get enough of Tyler Perry’s movies, so I’m not surprised to see his latest family comedy, “Joe’s College Road Trip,” hanging strong at #2 after “The Expendables 4” stole the crown this weekend. This spin-off of Perry’s popular Madea franchise trades the sassy matriarch for her foul-mouthed, hard-drinking brother Joe (Perry). When he hears his sheltered grandson B.J. (Jermaine Harris) is planning a college road trip with his friends, he hijacks the occasion for some quality family time together.

Naturally, all Hell breaks loose. The unlikely duo two brawl with bikers, evade the police, take a crash course in Black history, and, because this is a Tyler Perry movie at the end of the day, learn some heartfelt lessons along the way.

Netflix’s most-watched movie of all time has returned to its rightful place as a fixture in the Netflix top 10, and yes I’m still on my soap box trying to convince anyone who hasn’t seen it yet to give it a chance. The songs are surprisingly catchy, the sleek visuals and attention to detail are bubble-gum-flavored eye candy (as expected from the same animation studio behind the “Spider-Verse” movies), and you don’t have to know a thing about K-Pop to enjoy it.

It follows a trio of K-Pop stars, Rumi (Arden Cho), Mira (May Hong), and Zoey (Ji-young Yoo), who use their harmony to protect the world from supernatural evils. But when a group of demons disguised as a rival boy band comes for their crown and the souls of their fans, the three must face their own inner demons to stand a chance at victory.

If you’re afraid of heights, this ain’t the movie for you. It follows two thrill-seeking climbers, Becky (Grace Caroline Currey) and Hunter (Virginia Gardner), who get trapped in a nightmare scenario. After losing her fiancé in a mountaineering accident, Becky shuts herself off from the world. It’s Hunter who coaxes her out of her shell and helps reignite her passion for climbing.

For a real challenge, she suggests they climb an abandoned 2,000-foot radio tower in the middle of the desert, but when the ladder collapses out from under them, they’re left stranded at the top with no way down. With precious little water and the desert sun baking them alive, the friends face a battle for survival as they desperately try to call for help — and avoid plummeting in the process.
