Carlos Leal outslugged Chidi Njokuana to earn his 23rd career win at UFC Houston on Saturday.

While Leal’s relentless pressure was the story of the first round, things were much more even in the second. Njokuani’s biggest moment came in round two when he wobbled his opponent with a big right hand. However, Njokuani failed to capitalize, allowing Leal to fight his way back in the round and likely go up 2-0.

Leal continued to pour on the pressure in the second, walking down Njokuani and throwing bombs. Still, some of the most effective strikes came from Njokuani as he repeatedly kicked out Leal’s lead leg.

Despite their best efforts, neither fighter was able to land a fight-ending blow, sending us to the scorecards for the seventh time in eight bouts.

Official Result: Carlos Leal def. Chidi Njokuani via unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28).
