One of Asia’s largest retail pharmacy operators, backed by billionaire Li Ka-shing, is weighing entry into the Australian pharmacy sector with a possible bid for a group of Priceline stores.
AS Watson, a healthcare and beauty group majority-owned by Hong Kong conglomerate CK Hutchison Holdings that operates the Watsons and Superdrug pharmacy chains, would need Foreign Investment Review Board approval if it pursued the purchase of 92 Priceline pharmacies, previously operating under the Infinity Pharmacy Group.
