The Xiaomi Tag is set to be the company’s first proper attempt at introducing an Apple AirTag competitor. This tracking device has already been fully leaked before, and now, the company has confirmed that it’s set for an imminent launch.
Xiaomi has just announced the date of its next launch event, which is set to happen in Barcelona. In this event, the company will be launching a handful of accessories and introducing its current top-end flagship phone to the global market.
Among the main highlights is the Xiaomi Tag, positioned as an affordable competitor to trackers like the Apple AirTag, Moto Tag, and Pebblebee Clip 5. It was previously accidentally listed by Xiaomi France, and now, the brand has officially announced its imminent launch.
As revealed by the official social media accounts, the tracking device will launch alongside the Xiaomi 17 Ultra in Barcelona on February 28, 2026. The announcement didn’t share much about the Xiaomi Tag other than confirming that it’s a lightweight tracker, weighing just 10 grams.
Of course, on the Xiaomi France listing, a lot about the tracking device was disclosed. It will seemingly come with a CR2032 battery inside, the same cell that powers the Apple AirTag and other trackers like the Moto Tag (4-pack curr. $69.99 on Amazon). The tracker will reportedly be 7.2mm thick, and as leaker Roland Quandt added, it’s compatible with both Google’s Find Hub and Apple’s Find My services.
However, unlike the Apple AirTag, the initial version will not have UWB support. Xiaomi reportedly plans to launch a UWB version later down the line. This accidental listing has also revealed the price of the tracking device. It will reportedly cost €17.99 in the EU, around $21. Global pricing and availability details will be confirmed at the imminent launch event.
