Celtic v Rangers – Season in numbers 2025/26
Rangers and Celtic will share more than £2.5million in gate receipts from the most lucrative Scottish Cup tie in history next week.
The fierce rivals are set to clash at the quarter final stage at Ibrox Stadium next Sunday as they battle for a place at Hampden.
It’s the first time the Glasgow giants have met in a cup competition before the semi-final stage in 15 years.
On that occasion they also met at Ibrox in the Scottish Cup with Celtic winning 1-0 in a replay at Parkhead following a 2-2 draw at Ibrox. The return match was a bad tempered affair dubbed the shame game.
Rangers announced ticket prices for the game on Monday with adults paying £53 and juveniles £43.
According to Scotland’s coefficient, gate receipts from the last eight tie are estimated at more than £2.5m with Celtic taking 37 per cent under Scottish Football Association rules.
That would see the Hoops – who are occupying the entire Broomloan Road stand for the first time in eight years – bank almost £1m in their share which is almost DOUBLE what the eventual winners will bank in May.
