Bath and Harlequins have both reinforced their front-row stocks.
Bath have secured their long-term plans by extending the contract of a powerful former academy prop, while Harlequins have tied down an international tighthead on a new deal.
Vilikesa Sela to remain with Bath until at least 2028
After first earning his debut against Leicester Tigers in September 2024, the 20-year-old has committed to his boyhood club for another two years.
His reputation in the blue, black and white has grown with each campaign, as he has recently been rewarded with a call-up into the England international squad for the 2026 Six Nations campaign.
Of renewing with Bath, Sela said: “Bath is home for me. From playing in the Academy to playing with the senior team, I’ve always seen it as a privilege to wear the jersey.
“I feel like something special is being built here for the future to come, so to carry on my journey in the Blue, Black and White is honestly a blessing. Psalm 37:5.”
Johann van Graan added: “We are so excited about Billy continuing at Bath. It has been great to see him progress through the Bath pathway and it’s a great testament not only to Billy but to all in our pathway.
“His development over the last few years as a young man has seen him grown immensely and his best is definitely yet to come.”
Pedro Delgado to remain with Harlequins
In West London, the Argentine tighthead has extended his contract with Harlequins after arriving at The Stoop in October from Super Rugby Americas side Dogos XV.
He has made 12 appearances in the Quarters since arriving, and continues to play an important part in Argentina’s national side, recently starting in three of their Autumn Nations Series matches.
“I’m really happy to be staying at Harlequins. Everyone has been very welcoming to me since day one,” said Delgado.
“It’s incredible to be together with four Argentinians, especially to help me out with the language! We’re always together and helping each out in different ways, which is great.
“I want to keep improving as a player and developing as a man, and my English! I want to be out on the pitch as much as possible and perform in a Harlequins shirt, and for the Pumas.”
Senior coach Jason Gilmore added: “Pedro is a powerful operator who has made a strong start to life here at Harlequins.
“He works hard at the set-piece to give us a solid platform to play from and continues to develop his scrummaging through close work with Adam Jones. Pedro also has the ability to make an impact in the loose on both sides of the ball, which is essential for a top-level tighthead.
“Pedro is a great person and a popular figure within the squad, and we’re delighted he has committed his future to the club.”
Ruben Van Heerden signs for Montpellier
Montpellier have announced the signing of South African lock Ruben van Heerden from the Stormers. The 28-year-old has signed a three-year contract with the French club.
Joining the Top 14 club at the start of the 2026/2027 season, Van Heerden said: “I am very happy to join MHR, and I can’t wait to give everything for this incredible team and its supporters.”
Van Heerden has played twelve matches so far this season, including two showings in the Champions Cup, and an international for the Barbarians against the All Blacks XV, for which he started at number five and played 55 minutes.
English fans will recognise the six-foot-seven-inch second rower from his time with Exeter Chiefs during the 2022/23 season. The 28-year-old has many clubs to his name, having initially come through the ranks at the Bulls before moving on to the Sharks.
