Geelong has selected their team for Friday night’s clash with Essendon at GMHBA Stadium
Geelong have selected their team for Friday night’s clash, as they prepare to take on Essendon at GMHBA Stadium.
The Cats have made just one change to the side that defeated Port Adelaide last week, with young on-baller Mitch Knevitt returning to the team for his first AFL appearance since Easter Monday.
Knevitt featured in five matches at the top level earlier in 2025 before returning to the VFL, where he strung together a strong run of form in recent weeks to earn a recall to Geelong’s AFL team.
Cats captain, Patrick Dangerfield will be managed this week with Chris Scott confirming earlier today that the skipper will sit out Friday’s clash, as part of his preparation heading into the final weeks of the season.
Geelong and Essendon will square off the second time this year when they do battle at GMHBA Stadium on Friday night, the final game at Kardinia Park in the 2025 AFL season.
The Cats cruised to a 95-point win over the Bombers earlier this year and will look to continue the momentum they have gained over the past few weeks, sitting in the top four with three games remaining in the home and away season.
There is plenty for fans to get excited about in Round 22; Gryan Miers will reach his 150th AFL game, while Jeremy Cameron continues his chase for 100 goals this season.
