Travellers and hotel patrons may have some time to wait before they are greeted by friendly robots at reception, but artificial intelligence and robotics are nevertheless making rapid inroads into the world of hospitality, from booking systems integrated into ChatGPT to reporting food waste in restaurant kitchens.

Australia’s biggest hospitality providers and ASX-listed hotel operators such as Accor, Hilton, Minor Hotels and EVT are already using advanced technologies to improve productivity and efficiency, especially in their back-end operations.
