Sporting events have become the new Fashion Week. The onslaught of divas that were styling ultra cool outfits and gracing Melbourne Park for the Australian Open were proof that these major sporting occasions have evolved from the exclusive male-dominated fields they once were.

And with the Formula 1 being arguably the most star-studded event in the sporting calendar, with celebrities travelling across the globe to watch the Grand Prix take place in its respective cities, it’s safe to say the appearance of it girls, F1 WAGS and style icons have encouraged spectators to rock up looking their best. So if you’re attending the Aus GP this year, you’re probably on the hunt for Formula 1 outfits that’ll have you looking sleek on race day.

Is There A Dress Code For The Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix?

If you have a GA or grand stand ticket, the good news is there’s no dress code and you’re free to wear whatever you’d like.

If you’re in the fancy hospitality suite, there are a few ground rules. First, men are encouraged to wear a collared shirt such as a regular button-up or a polo. According to the official dress code, “dress pants or chinos are encouraged”, but it’s acceptable to wear jeans as long as they’re not ripped. If it’s a hot day and you’re opting for shorts, they must be dress shorts.

If you want to wear heels, the F1 says go right ahead, but be mindful “you will be required to walk long distances across the grass and bare ground to gain access to your hospitality suite”. Skirts and dresses are acceptable as long as they meet the smart casual standard.

And of course, team merchandise is encouraged!
