Philippine boxing legend Manny Pacquiao did a lot of great stuff inside the ropes. Now, he has put on his promoter’s hat and is doing his work outside the ropes on Saturday, February 28, at Turning Stone Resort Casino in Verona, New York.
Manny Pacquiao Promotions’ (MPP) contender-stacked, 2nd card will be headlined by big punching Elijah Pierce (21-2, 17 KOs) and fellow banger Lorenzo Parra (23-1-17 KOs).
The main event should be a good one with these two fighters throwing bombs all night. Take note of those numbers, folks, that is a combined 34 KOs in 44 wins.
MPP’s first card in California was an SRO event that saw his son Jimuel make his pro debut.
Manny Pacquiao has fond and recent memories of Upstate New York, as he was here last June to be inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame.
The Pierce-Parra bout will be a 10-round WBO Featherweight International Championship main event. Both fighters are looking for the signature wins that will position themselves for a world title opportunity.
Fighting at the Turning Stone for the 7th time, Bryce Mills (20-1, 7 KOs) of nearby Liverpool, NY, will be in the semi-main against Florida’s Tobias Green (12-3-1, 4 KOs) in a 10-round US WBC Silver Super Lightweight Title fight.
The other fighter named “Pacquiao” that will be creating a buzz is the return of Manny “Jimuel” Pacquiao Jr. (0-0-1), who will look for win # 1 in bout # 2 after a draw in his pro debut.
Also featured is 19-year-old prospect Floyd Mayweather-promoted Curmel “Big Deal” Moton (8-0, 6 KOs).
