The final leg of the 2026 Golden Swing is at ATP Santiago in the capital city of Chile. A solid field has descended upon the Santiago clay as the top two seeds, among six others, have reached the quarterfinals. As always, we at LWOT have the previews and predictions for all four matches. But who will advance?
ATP Santiago Quarterfinal Predictions
Sebastian Baez vs Alejandro Tabilo
Head-to-Head: Baez 2-1 Tabilo
No. 3 seed Sebastian Baez squares off against No. 8 seed Alejandro Tabilo in a battle of clay-court specialists at ATP Santiago. Baez has played well this year, posting an 11-4 record in all competitions. He is coming off a hard-fought three-set victory over Garin and is playing with confidence. Tabilo reached the finals of Rio last week and is once again having a terrific Golden Swing. This match will likely go the distance, but I give the slight advantage to Baez, who should have fresher legs.
Prediction: Baez in 3
Luciano Darderi vs Andrea Pellegrino
Head-to-Head: Darderi 2-0 Pellegrino
Over 7,000 miles from home, we have an all-Italian quarterfinal battle at ATP Santiago. No. 2 seed Luciano Darderi has had a fantastic start to the season, reaching the second week in Melbourne and the final of Buenos Aires earlier this month. Qualifier Andrea Pellegrino has spent over nine hours on the Santiago dirt compared to just over two hours for Darderi. The younger Italian is more talented, more in-form, and should be fresher.
Prediction: Darderi in 2
Yannick Hanfmann vs Vilius Gaubas
Head-to-Head: first meeting
What an opportunity for the winner of this match to reach the semifinals of an ATP Tour event, something the 21-year-old Vilius Gaubas has never done in his young career. The Lithuanian is 13-5 in all competitions this year. Veteran German Yannick Hanfmann will not make it easy for the youngster. Hanfmann pulled off a straightforward upset in the Round of 16 and should be feeling confident with his current form. He has loved the clay throughout his career and will be ready for a battle against the youngster. Experience should win out in a tight one.
Prediction: Hanfmann in 3
Francisco Cerundolo vs Emilio Nava
Head-to-Head: Cerundolo 1-0 Nava
No. 1 seed Francisco Cerundolo is looking to claim title No. 2 of the 2026 Golden Swing. In doing so, he would luckily reach a new career-high ranking. Emilio Nava, who took down Matteo Berrettini in Round 1, is playing some of the best tennis of his career. Expect the American to have a great season, but he does not have the firepower to match the No. 1 seed.
Prediction: Cerundolo in 2
