Sharks enforcer Siosifa Talakai has reportedly inked a three-year deal to join the Perth Bears for their inaugural season in 2027, as their next targets were revealed.
The Daily Telegraph reported Talakai is set to sign a three-year deal that would keep him at the Bears until at least the end of the 2029 season.

The 28-year-old is off-contract in 2026 and has been free to negotiate with rivals from November 1 last year and the Bears have swooped to pry him away from the Shire.
Talakai, who can cover centre, back row and bench utility has scored 27 tries in 133 games for the Rabbitohs and the Sharks since his debut in 2016.
The versatile veteran also played two Origins for the Blues back in 2022 and has played two Tests for Tonga to date.
Talakai is the second major signing for the Bears this week after Panthers premiership hero Scott Sorensen joined the club on a two-year deal.
The Bears now have nearly half their top 30 locked in for 2027 with more signings expected to follow in the coming weeks.
The Bears are also reportedly eyeing off Warriors prop Marata Niukore and Panthers playmaker Jack Cole as their next targets.

29-year-old Niukore has scored 18 tries in 157 games for the Eels and Warriors since his debut in 2018, while 22-year-old Cole has scored three tries in 17 games for Penrith to date.
The Bears have also offered a development deal to London Broncos pivot Gairo Voro, who has been touted as Papua New Guinea’s version of Jarome Luai and rated a future Kumuls star.
Bears coach Meninga confirmed his interest in Voro, who could also opt to play for the PNG Chiefs in 2028.
“Gairo had a very good Pacific Test series for PNG last year, he is quite an impressive player,” Meninga told The Daily Telegraph.

“Realistically, we will be patient but we have only the next few weeks to try and consolidate something before we are quiet for a bit with the season starting.
“We’re pretty happy with who we have signed but we have a bit of work to do.
“The players who have signed up want us to be successful.
“It is a challenge because the other 17 clubs are not dumb, they are locking in all their major talents for the longer haul so we have to be smart with the guys we target.”

The Bears are also interested in Broncos star Gehamat Shibasaki, who is on $160,000 at Brisbane currently.
But after becoming an Origin and Test star last season, Meninga admits the Bears may not be able to afford him, given he could command $600,000 on his next deal.
“Gehamat had a terrific year and he’s certainly someone you look at,” Meninga said.
“You don’t discard those types of players, but he could be a bit dear for us.
“I just think Gehamat could price himself out for us.
“We haven’t pursued it too much, I just assumed he would stay with the Broncos.”
