If there is one shoe you’re sure to find on the feet of Aussies in the colder months both inside and outside the home it’s Ugg boots.
A classic wardrobe item that keeps you warm and looks good, Ugg boots can be expensive to kit out the entire family with.
Fortunately for our icy toes Kmart has just dropped a new range of Ugg slipper boots for men, women and kids at budget-friendly prices.
The children’s Uggs are $30 a pair, while women’s Uggs are $39 and men’s are $45.
“For this range we’ve focused on improving comfort, construction and design details, while ensuring the styles feel current and wearable. This includes a suede upper for a more premium feel and a wool blend lining that enhances warmth and softness,” a Kmart spokesperson said.

Shoppers who have purchased Uggs swear by them and get them for their family members too.
“I love mine so much over winter they are like a comfy hug for my feet and make everything OK. I wish I had the guts to wear them outside of the house! My daughter and all of her friends wear them everywhere [too],” Jo said.
Unlike Jo, April does keep them on when she heads out and about and she recently bought a pair for her husband to keep him warm in Melbourne’s chilly weather.
“I wear my Ugg boots constantly around the house in winter, they are so comfortable that I sometimes just wear them to walk to the shops or local café… I’ve had them for three years now and they are still going strong.”

Theo’s family lives in Ugg boots and in proof they are still on trend, his daughter even popped them on in summer.
“We’re a family of four and all of us have a pair for winter. so easy to just slip them on and instant warmth – we only have hard floors so it’s either Uggs or socks
“Kids also have an outside pair that they wear. My daughter received a new pair for Christmas and was so desperate to wear them out to the shops, which she did wearing a singlet and jean shorts!”
Wearing Uggs out of the house may come down to personal preference, but the shoes are actually designed for wearing outside for things like errands and catching up with friends.
“Ugg boots are designed to be more structured and versatile than slippers. Key features include a sturdier outsole suitable for light outdoor wear, a supportive shape around the foot and ankle, and warm lining designed for all‑day comfort,” the Kmart spokesperson said.
“Slippers are typically softer, less structured and intended for indoor use only.”

You can wear them with whatever you like, but there are a couple of key looks that are bang on trend.
“Pair them with relaxed denim, straight‑leg or baggy pants, or layered over socks with leggings for an elevated off‑duty look,” the Kmart spokesperson said.
“Balance the softness with structured or oversized pieces like longline coats, bomber jackets or chunky knits to keep the outfit feeling current and considered.”

Whether you wear them inside, outside or both, a little care keeps your Uggs looking good for as long as possible, so keep these tips in mind.
“Using a protective spray before first wear can help guard against marks, especially on materials like suede. Spot cleaning with a damp cloth will keep them looking fresh, and storing them in a cool, dry place between wears will help maintain their shape and finish,” the Kmart spokesperson explained.
