The St. Louis Cardinals “officially launched their ‘Coca-Cola Unlimited’ tickets,” and as a first for Busch Stadium and the club, they are “offering fans in Big Mac Land an all-you-can-eat ‘experience’ with a side dish of baseball,” according to Derrick Goold of the ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH. Part of the concept is “geared toward bringing more families to the ballpark,” and it is a step the Cardinals are also taking to “reinvigorate ticket sales after seeing them decline by more than 1 million over the past two years.” This past season, the Cardinals “dropped to 19th in tickets-sold attendance,” down to 2.3 million, the “lowest in the 20 seasons” at the club’s current ballpark. The “unlimited” tickets are available “for all 81 home games,” but the cost of the ticket “increases depending on the demand as well as opponent, day and time of the season.” The Cardinals “contacted season ticket holders in the Big Mac Land sections this offseason about relocating so that this area could be reimagined for the all-you-can-eat promotion.” Other promotions have launched, and “more are planned throughout the season to draw fans back.” There are also “changes coming to the game-going experience” (ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH, 3/2). THE ATHLETIC’s Devon Henderson noted Big Mac Land in left field, which only seats about 500 people, was chosen due to its “probability of receiving home runs, its proximity to an easily accessible concession stand, and the fact that it has previously been one of the more undersold portions of the stadium” (THE ATHLETIC, 3/2).
