BUIES CREEK – Campbell closed out the 2025-26 regular season with a 90-72 home win over NC A&T Tuesday night. The Camels close the year 14-17, 8-10.
 
DJ Smith returned to form with a game-high 26 points on 8-15 shooting and 4-7 from downtown. Smith now has 16 20-point games on the season. Dovydas Butka added 18 points and Chris Fields scored 12.
 
The Campbell offense dished out 21 assists on the night, a season-best against a D1 foe, thanks to four apiece from Butka, Fields, and Jeremiah Johnson.
 

Campbell was off and running all night, with 23 points off NC A&T turnovers and 19 fast break points.
 
The Camels started red hot, shooting 6-8 from downtown in the opening nine minutes of play. Campbell led by as many as 13 in the first half, and went to the break up 10 at 45-35. Smith led all scorers with 10 points at the break.
 
The offense kept rolling with 45 more points in the second half, shooting 61% from the floor. Campbell opened up the half on a 10-0 to stretch the lead to 20, and never let the Aggies back into the game. The Camels led by as many as 24 with 6 minutes to go and cruised to the 90-72 final.
 

NC A&T was paced by 16 points and 8 boards from Zamoku Weluche-Ume.
 
The win solidified Campbell as the 9-seed in the upcoming CAA tournament, where Campbell will face 8-seed Stony Brook in the second round on Saturday, Mar. 7 at noon.
