THE RUNDOWN

After Machine Gun Kelly left a flirty comment on Megan Fox’s Instagram, sources spoke to TMZ about their actual relationship status.

The two stars, who once dated on and off, are not back together.

The update comes weeks after multiple sources shut down Fox and Kelly reconciliation rumors in January, with one insider telling People, “Whatever they had romantically is done.”

Megan Fox returned to Instagram with a series of sultry photos of herself, sharing two posts after previously wiping her account clean. “Everything is more beautiful because we are doomed,” she captioned her first shot.

The photos caught her ex Machine Gun Kelly’s attention, leading the musician to comment, “stoked i have your phone number.” Fox didn’t respond to it, and it didn’t take long for sources to shut down any reconciliation rumors fueled by Kelly’s remark.

Multiple sources told TMZ that Fox and Kelly only co-parent their 11-month-old daughter, Saga, and are not back together romantically. They believed that Kelly posted the flirty reaction “so people would comment and speculate,” the outlet reported.

In early January, multiple insiders told TMZ that despite rumors otherwise, Kelly and Fox remained broken up following their November 2024 split.

“Sources say Megan and MGK are not in a romantic relationship, and the only time MGK sees or talks to Megan is when he is spending time with their baby girl, who was born in March [2025],” the outlet wrote.

Days later, on January 16, a source gave People similar intel. “[They] haven’t been together in a real way for a long time now and whatever they had romantically is done,” the insider said.

“Their relationship at this point is just about co-parenting,” the source added. “Megan is focused on her kids and the baby and just getting settled into this new chapter. That’s genuinely her priority.”

Fox and Kelly were on-off for months leading up to their November 2024 split. In March 2024, Fox spoke on Call Her Daddy about him, confirming they had previously called off their engagement. She told host Alex Cooper that she would no longer discuss their relationship in interviews.

“I think that what I’ve learned from being in this relationship is that it’s not for public consumption,” Fox said. “So I think, as of now, I don’t have a comment on the status of the relationship, per se. What I can say is that [he] is what I refer to as being my ‘twin soul,’ and there will always be a tether to him, no matter what. I can’t say for sure what the capacity will be, but I will always be connected to him somehow. Beyond that, I’m not willing to explain. All those things you said were accurate things that have occurred [that we got engaged, called it off, and now people aren’t sure what our status is]. And I could see them being confusing, or interesting to people, and them being like, ‘What’s up?’”
