The 2026 Formula 1 season has arrived, with Friday practice for the Australian Grand Prix set to provide the first real proof of the pecking order for this season. Live updates below!

Oscar Piastri is back home for the first time since his brilliant 2025 campaign, where he led the world championship for much of the season and won seven races.

But he was incredibly unlucky last year at Albert Park, spinning out while running second behind teammate and eventual world champion Lando Norris.

It means there has still never been an Australian driver on the podium at the Australian Grand Prix (after final classification).

First practice runs between 12:30pm and 1:30pm AEDT, while second practice is between 4pm and 5pm AEDT.
